Freshly Made Sketches 196

Hi everyone and welcome back!

Today my card is my entry for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I pulled out a stamp set I haven't used in a little while, Zoo Babies which I think is so cute! I kind of wanted to make a generic sex card so I could give it to anyone at the spare of the moment. I hope you like it!

Just Add Ink #272 - Butterflies!

Hello, and welcome to my blog today for the Just Add Ink challenge. This week is all about butterflies!

I love making butterfly cards and surely this shouldn't be too hard.... right? Hmm....!

Here is my card I made today...

I love the new In Colours so I felt I needed to showcase them in this card. Even the sentiment is using them! I have also used masking in my card so that the butterflies overlapped a little.

PPA261 - Celebrate Today

Hi there, and welcome back to my blog! This blog post is all about the Pals Paper Arts challenge 261. I really liked the sketch and the circles just made me think of hot air balloons! I have had this stamp set for a little while but hadn't used it to make anything other than birthday balloons. So it was a good change to try something new! Once again, I've used the "Cherry on Top" paper stack, I just can't help it - it makes me happy! I also hoped that the recipient would feel happy, even though she is going through a really hard time.

So here is my card...

The Pals Paper Arts challenge is below. You can click on the image below and go directly to their challenge blog.

I chose to do a birthday card, and went diagonally through the tic tac toe. So I had to use patterned paper and blue as well. Easy! Stampin' Up! have an amazing range of colours! I also used the new matching designer paper stack. I really love the new designs. They're awesome!

There are so many combinations to chose from in this tic tac toe challenge. I hope you'll give one a go too!

Mojo Monday #407

Welcome back to my blog today for Mojo Monday! Now, don't get me wrong, I really enjoy working to a pre-given sketch but I had a hard time trying to decide on what to do for the sketch this week! So I flipped through the great projects the design team had used and low and behold, the first one was set as landscape instead of portrait. I was more inspired seeing it from the different angle. I needed to make a card for a little boy, so I was happy with how this one turned out.

Here is my creation!

The sketch for this challenge was. If you click directly onto the sketch you'll be taken directly to the Mojo Monday challenge page.

Just Add Ink #271

Hi everyone!

I made this card for the Just Add Ink challenge earlier this week and haven't had time to blog it... but school holidays are now over and I finally have a spare 10mins! :-)

I really love the Cherry on Top DSP stack. Its so bright and colourful and just makes me happy when I use it! It really marries well with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and coordinating punch. The wonderful thing is that this stamp set is the Ronald McDonald fundraising stamp set, so every one purchased contributes to this great cause.

Here is the card I came up with for this challange! (Details will be below on this challenge).

Here is the sketch challenge J. You can click HERE and you'll be taken to the blog page. Have a go and play along too! If you don't have a blog yourself, it doesn't matter, these sketches are awesome at providing some great ideas and layouts for when you get stuck!

Crazy Crafters July Blog Hop - Favourite Colour Combo

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters blog hop for July. This month we are excited to show off our favourite colour combos. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects. We are so lucky to have very talented members in our team!

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Handmade by Nicole Spicer -  or may have come from the person previous to me in the list below. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Nicole Spicer at hop spot #3.

The colours I've chosen today are Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Very Vanilla.

I needed to make a card for my nephew who was turning 11 last week and I wanted to use colours that I don't normally use. So when searching for different combos, this one stood out for me. I got the idea for this card from Pinterest and I thought it was such a practical design and could be suitable for a lot of masculine themed cards. Anyway, he loved the card so that was great!

The supplies I have used in making my card today are:

Fab Friday - From Land to Sea Lighthouse

Hi there, welcome back to my blog. I finally got around to showing you my entry for the Fab Friday blog. You can visit their page by clicking HERE. I absolutely love crafting to a sketch challenge!

Here is my card to the challenge:

The sketch is as follows:

When I saw the sketch challenge it instantly made me think of a picture hanging on a wall! So my first idea was to do a framed picture. I recently got the stamp set ' From Land to Sea' and fell in love with the lighthouse. I've never made a card with a lighthouse in it before either! I wanted to depict a scene of a lighthouse up on a rock facing out to the ocean. I hope you can see it too!

 Hi there!

Welcome to my blog today for MojoMonday! Okay, so its not Monday, but its school holidays and we have been insanely busy, like most families! This weeks challenge, MOJO406, can be viewed from their blog here

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

Mojo Monday 405

Hello there!

I have just finished my Mojo Monday sketch challenge MOJO405 and I wanted to show you! I actually did 2 cards and couldn't decide which one to enter! So I'll blog both and enter one of them!

You can join in the fun too by going to the Mojo Monday challenge. Click here!

Here is the design sketch for this week!

And here are the two cards I've made using this sketch.

I didn't put a sentiment on this card so I could use it for any occasion. But I think it'd make a useful masculine card for when I need one! I used the supplies below to make this card:

The second card I made is from a stamp set I got recently called "Wild about flowers" Although I didn't use the flowers, the sentiments are really lovely. We had a friend retire from his job in Education after 40 odd years, so I thought this one was good.

Boys will be boys - Pals Paper Art Colour Challenge PPA258

Todays blog post I'm doing a colour challenge that I've not participated in before. So I'm super excited to share this with you today. The colour challenge is from Pals Paper Art. Click here to check it out!

The challenge picture is:

And here is the card I came up with:

This was such a quick card to make! Once I trimmed all my cardstock to size, I stamped splotches from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set onto the Cucumber Crush cardstock. I stamped my image from Boys will be Boys stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock and die cut it with the banner framelit, and I also cut the next size up in Night of Navy and layered them together. I adhered this with dimensionals onto the front. I stamped my sentiment in Watermelon Wonder onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and trimmed the edges with the Banner Punch. I then attached it with dimensionals.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today. Be sure to check back tomorrow for more projects!

Here is the sketch for this week. You can visit their blog here - Just Add Ink #268 Sketch.

This is what I came up with today!

A really quick and easy card for today as I have adhered my layers directly to my card base. The supplies are as follows:

Butterfly card for my 4 year old niece.

When I had an unexpected phone call from my mother-in-law this morning to "make cards" I thought, "Gee, twist my arm!" It's a great time to put the kettle on, have a yarn, but more importantly, craft!

My niece's birthday is coming up soon so I thought I'd better get my wriggle on. She is only turning 4 but I'm sure she should be turning 10! But she loves butterflies so I thought of this one. Here it is:

Here's a closer view of the butterflies. The first couple are Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight, the second couple are Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo, the third Real Red and Tempting Turquoise and finally Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. I matched the buttons to the butterfly underneath and tied them with some metalic gold bakers twine.

Here's a look at the supplies I have used for my card:

I hope you like my card and, til next time!
