Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Georgia Giguere

Hello to everyone out there visiting me today for our Crazy Crafters Blog Hop. This hop we have a special guest, Georgia Giguere! Thanks so much for joining us this month Georgia.

When this hop was first announced with Georgia, I admit that I wasn't too sure who she was, although I was familiar with some of her creations. I headed to her blog www.stampingeorgia.com but I don't think I was really prepared for what I learned about this amazing lady!

Her amazing story of Faith in God and battling a horrible disease brought tears to my eyes. I was moved so much by her writing that I kept reading and reading (I felt like a bit of a stalker! LOL). I would encourage you to take the time to read her journey and see her amazing talent. She shares lots of ideas and techniques.

Anyway, enough from me, lets get on with the show!

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Nicole Spicer - or may have come from the person previous to me. Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

I couldn't decide on one project of Georgia's to CASE this week so I chose three. Yep, three. If I had more time I could have done more! haha.

This card really stood out to me because I had only recently got the Detailed Floral Thinlits Die. It is so beautiful and intricate. I love the softness of Georgia's card but I went for something a bit more bold, and Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo are such a "match-made-in-heaven". The sentiment I have chosen is from the stamp set One Big Meaning.

This next card was so cute and fun, but Valentine's cards just aren't my thing - so I've used this beautiful paper pack for a Thank You card. I love the designs but this pattern really stood out for me. I was going to do silver slimmer flowers but stuck with red ones.

The final card I made was actually the first one I made when CASING Georgia's cards. I loved the simplicity of it. As this trim is retired I thought it was a perfect opportunity to try my new FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set, Delicate Details. (Free with any $90 spent on my online store!).

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, and I hope you will continue on our blog hop to check out the amazing creations made by Shannon and our team of Crazy Crafters!

Global Design Project #GDP073

Hello crafting friends and thanks for joining me for my blog post. I'm posting this quite late because its been a very busy, but lovely weekend catching up with my parents, who have been in New Zealand for 5 weeks on holiday and visiting my brother and family. I had made this card earlier in the week but typical of me, I leave it til the last minute to photograph and blog - and for the last 4 days its been horrible weather... so no lovely garden photo with my card this time.

Anyhow, this is the card I've made for the Global Design Projects colour challenge they presented this week. The colours are Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder and Emerald Envy. I quite liked this colour combination and didn't find it too hard to get some inspiration.

I have used one of my fave stamp sets, Garden in Bloom and Tin of Cards for the sentiment. I just cannot resist the cute little bee - perfect for Daffodil Delight! I have stamped off with my flowers to get the different shades of Watermelon Wonder. A great way to add depth without adding another colour.

Here's the link to the Global Design Project blog. Be sure to check out the amazing creations!

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Shannon Lane

Hello to everyone out there visiting me today for our Crazy Crafters Blog Hop. This hop we have a special guest, Shannon Lane! Thanks so much for joining us this month Shannon!

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Nicole Spicer - or may have come from the person previous to me. Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

Here is the card I have made. I decided to use a layout to base my card on this time. I loved the vertical look. I'll admit, I don't make too many cards with the top fold, but I really love this one.

I've stuck with my favourite colour to base my card today - Sweet Sugarplum. I've teamed this with Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride for my balloons. My bear is a triple stamped image in Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and Early Expresso.

The stamp sets I have used in my card are Baby Bear, Bookshelf Builder for the sentiment and hearts and Gorgeous Grunge for the background splatters. I know Shannon has flicked her Stampin' Write Markers to create her splatter effect, but I'm afraid I'm not as clever as her (or just not as experienced!) and mine didn't work! My next best thing was my ever useful Gorgeous Grunge.

Here is the card from Shannon that I have chosen to CASE. You can click on the image to go to her blog post featuring this card. Every month we have to chose a card to CASE and this month was no exception to the difficulty of choosing just one! Shannon's work is amazing!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, and I hope you will continue on our blog hop to check out the amazing creations made by Shannon and our team of Crazy Crafters!

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Valerie Moody

A very big hello to everyone out there visiting me today for our Crazy Crafters Blog Hop. This hop we have a special guest, Valerie Moody. Thanks so much for joining us this month Valerie!

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Nicole Spicer - or may have come from the person previous to me. Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

Here is the card I have made.

Here is the inside of my card. I just put a flower in the corner this time as I didn't want to take up too much writing space. I have left off a sentiment in my card because I wanted to have this card for a generic purpose.

When I was deciding which card I wanted to CASE of Valerie's, I came across this colour palette which she had used for a challenge on her blog. You can click on the image to go to her blog post for this challenge.

I absolutely love these colours together so I couldn't wait to get started! I also wanted to use my Sale-a-bration freebie stamp set called Avent Garden. I really love this stamp set. The flower is just gorgeous and the font of the sentiments is lovely. Here's a look at that set:

Remember, this stamp set is FREE with every $90 AUD you spend on any amazing Stampin' Up! products you order. I have a link on my blog to the beautiful catalogues available at the moment. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Jar of Love

I made this card a few weeks ago with the Global Design Project challenge GDP066. Unfortunately I didn't get around to submitting it. :-( But nevertheless, I wanted to share the card with you anyway!

I will give you a link to the original GDP blog after I show you my card. I have used some of my favourite colours - Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum, Cucumber Crush and Flirty Flamingo. The stamp set is from the Jar of Love bundle, available from the 2016/2017 Annual Catalogue.

If you'd like to view the blog to see the other entrants beautiful creations, head over to the GDP blog below.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

GDP070 Avent Garden

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog today for a card I made for the Global Design Project blog challenge. This week they had a sketch challenge. I love sketch challenges! It really allows for a broad interpretation!

Here is the card I made using the new Sale-a-bration stamp set Avent Garden. The colours I have used are Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach and Emerald Envy. I'm sure I've said it hundreds of times, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE these In Colours. Luckily for me, they will run for another year after because I'm defiantly not happy to see them go yet!

I've decorated the inside with flowers and a thanks sentiment. These sentiments come from the same stamp set. You can never have too many thank you cards!

So here is the blog challenge image. You can click on it to go straight to their blog. I'd encourage you to check it out. The projects produced are amazing.

Well thanks for stopping by, I hope you've enjoyed looking at my card!

Remember to check back later today, as we have our Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - with special guest Valerie Moody. Should be awesome!

Well, til next time,

Event Garden & Jar of Love

Hello! Welcome to my blog where I post my latest creations! Sometimes I make a card for blog challenges, or something will inspire me to just create!

I think that was the case in this one. I was making another card for a blog challenge (i'll post that one soon!) and then after I finished that one, this one came about. I have to admit, that I LOVE how this card turned out.

I have used the masking technique quite a lot in this card. Its fiddly but really looks great when it works! The colours I have used are Flirty Flamingo, Watermelon Wonder and Peekaboo Peach. I was not a fan of Peekaboo Peach when it first came out - but I have really turned into a fan! Especially with these two beautiful colours. And who doesn't love Emerald Envy!? Another one of my favourites.

The inside of my card is simple with a sentiment and two flowers in the corner.

If you like the flowers in this card - then you'd better get in quick, as this stamp set is offered FREE as part of our Sale-a-bration celebration.

Well I hope you like my card, as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by.

12yo birthday card - Cupcake or Ice-cream?

Hello again, and thanks for stopping by!

This is a card I have made for my niece who, as you can see, is turning 12! I finally had a chance to use my Confetti TIEF for this card, and I really like the effect!! I wanted to make a pretty card, but when I was looking for my Glimmer paper, I found all these different colours! I thought "Ahh well, I might use them all!" So I did. I have Cherry Cobbler, Champagne (retired), Silver, Gold and Blushing Bride. The cupcake base or cone is stamped in Early Expresso on Soft Suede card stock.

The banner at the top is using the Thoughtful Banners bundle (stamp set and punch). I gently curved the photopolymer words to fit in the banner. I embossed them all in white embossing powder and punched them out using the banner punch.

For the inside of my card, I stamped the sentiment in Real Red and then embellished it to matched the front. I did add some gold glitter with my two way glue pen to match the glittery effect.

Well thanks for coming by!
Til next time,

Beetles & Bugs and The Brights Collection colours

Hello again! This next card I made today is going to be loved by any little boy I know!

I have used a new stamp set called Beetles & Bugs - and it is AWESOME! There is a such a great variety of bugs to chose from! I have used them all in this card cause they are all so cute! My colour scheme is the Brights Collection from Stampin' Up! I wanted this card to be bright and colourful, so the 10 colours of this collection was just perfect!

The inside of my card is also stamped with the little ants. I wanted something simple that didn't take over the card space. For ants, I think they're cute!

The cardstock colours I have used are Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Island Indigo.

Thanks again for stopping by!

Playful Pals Piggy

Hello and welcome to my blog! I have had a very productive day today-  I got 6 cards made! I've already showed you three, so here is another one. This card is for my niece who LOVES pigs.

This card uses the stamp set Playful Pals. I will be honest and admit that I haven't used this stamp set nearly as much I'd thought I would - mostly due to my lack of crafting time - but I really like it! You can use it to customise to any requirement!

The cardstock I have used is Blushing Bride and Whisper White. To add texture and contrast, I have used Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.... I really love this glimmer paper!

I've mixed up my ink colours on this card. I started with Pink Pirouette for her head, but found it to be too light, so I stamped over the top in Blushing Bride. But I did leave the Pink Pirouette for his ears and just outlined them in Blushing Bride. The snout is Flirty Flamingo because I wanted something a bit darker but not too dark. I love this colour so much! I also used it to stamp my sentiment Happy Birthday.

I love to decorate the inside of my cards, and for this one I thought it would be fitting to use the bow from my background. I think they are adorable!

I hope you've enjoyed my card, I know my niece is going to LOVE it!

Til next time,

Z Fold Cards & Guy Greetings

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog today!
I was busting to use the new Hexagon Dynamic TIEF but I haven't received my Nailed It stamp set and dies yet. So.... I pulled out my Guy Greetings stamp set to use in the meantime.

These cards are really easy to make as it was a standard card with the front folded back over to create a Z. In each card I have hidden the Happy Birthday message behind the square part at the front.

The first card is stamped with the Anchor and phrase "You're my anchor". I wanted to leave this as a non-specific recipient so it could be given to a partner, father or brother.

The second card features the tool stamp from this stamp set. I had never used this particular one before but I really like it for a background. I stamped the World's Greatest stamp first and then the Dad stamp underneath. Doing the banner first helps to line up the Dad stamp.

The last card I have made is one for my Father-in-law who's birthday is coming up soon. This one features brushed silver card stock and silver embossing powder for the sentiment on the front. On the inside I have added the word Dad to the Happy Birthday message.

The supplies I have used are as follows.
Cardstock - Basic Grey, Brushed Silver, Smokey Slate and Whisper White
Ink - Black Memento, Clear Versamark
Stamp Set - Guy Greetings
Big Shot, Layering square framelits and Hexagon Dynamic TIEF
Trimmer, Tear and Tape and Snail
Silver embossing powder, Embossing buddy and Heat tool

Well thanks for joining me! I hope you enjoyed them as much I do.

GDP069 Garden in Bloom

Today I have a couple of cards I made for the Global Design Project blog, #GDP069.

They have a colour challenge this week.... Delightful Dijon, Silver and another colour of your choice. I have chosen Elegant Eggplant. I will have the link to GDP so you can check it out!

Here are my cards.

I have used one of my favourite stamp sets from the Annual Catalogue called Garden in Bloom. Firstly, I stamped the outlined image in Elegant Eggplant in random places on Whisper White. Then using the solid image, I stamped off on scrap paper and then on the outlined flower. I love this effect, especially seeings I couldn't add two additional colours!

The sentiment, Happy Birthday, is also from the Annual Catalogue and is called Stylised Birthday. This is certainly a well used practical stamp in my collection!

I have used my Layering Ovals Framelits for the sentiment. I absolutely love how they are made to fit perfectly with each other, both ovals and scalloped ovals.

Here is the link from Global Design Project. Click the image to see the creations from the design team and other entrants.

I hope you have enjoyed these. Thanks for stopping by.
